Is this you?
We wrote this for three kinds of HCPC-registered professional. Most people reading this are at least one of them.
You're tired of "generic" ethics training that doesn't fit your profession.
The HCPC regulates 15 different professions, and most ethics courses default to one, usually something resembling a hospital procedure, and don't transfer well to your actual practice. This course is written to genuinely serve that breadth.
A consent, confidentiality, or candour situation has tested you recently.
Whether it's a service user with capacity making a choice you disagree with, or being honest with a service user after something's gone wrong, this course works through the real reasoning, not just the rule.
You want CPD that's actually current, not written before the 2024 standards update.
The HCPC's Standards of Conduct, Performance and Ethics were revised in September 2024, including a new explicit apology requirement and a new social media accuracy standard. This course is built around that current version.
The HCPC sets ten standards. This course covers the ethical reasoning ones.
Ethics and our upcoming Professionalism course are designed as a pair, covering the HCPC's Standards of Conduct, Performance and Ethics fully between them without repeating each other. Here's where this course sits.

Course description
A 2.5-hour CPD course on the ethical reasoning side of the HCPC's Standards of Conduct, Performance and Ethics, effective September 2024, built for HCPC-registered professionals across all 15 regulated professions. It covers genuine partnership and consent, confidentiality including shared and remote settings, the duty of candour including the apology itself, and honesty and trustworthiness including the new social media standard.
Why it's relevant
The HCPC regulates 15 genuinely different professions, physiotherapists, occupational therapists, paramedics, radiographers, speech and language therapists, and more. Most ethics training defaults to one profession's typical scenario and doesn't transfer well to the rest. This course is written using scenarios drawn from across different HCPC professions, and grounded in the actual September 2024 standards update, not an older version.
How it improves your practice
You'll finish able to work in genuine partnership with service users and apply consent properly across your own scope, understand what confidentiality actually requires including when disclosure is genuinely justified, apply the duty of candour correctly including the apology itself, and recognise what honesty and trustworthiness require beyond simply not lying, including the new social media standard.
