Welcome to this course

This course covers the standing conduct side of the GPhC’s Standards for Pharmacy Professionals: working in partnership with others, communicating effectively, professional knowledge and judgement, raising concerns, and leadership. Our companion Ethics course covers the reasoning-based standards, person-centred care, confidentiality, candour, and honesty.

The GPhC regulates both pharmacists and pharmacy technicians, across community pharmacy, hospital, primary care, and distance-selling settings. This course is written across that real range, addressing genuine multi-disciplinary working, not a single high-street dispensing scenario relabelled for every context.

By the end of this course you will be able to

  1. Work genuinely in partnership with prescribers, colleagues, and other healthcare professionals
  2. Communicate effectively, including medicines counselling that genuinely lands with the person receiving it
  3. Maintain your professional knowledge and exercise genuine professional judgement, including under pressure
  4. Raise a concern properly, about a colleague, a system, or a resourcing issue, and lead a team where concerns are genuinely welcomed
  5. Apply every standard together in a real, tangled situation, worked through a complete case

Who this is for

Any GPhC-registered pharmacist or pharmacy technician, at any career stage, in community, hospital, primary care, or distance-selling pharmacy.

Structure How this course is organised +

Five modules, four knowledge checks, and a final 15-question assessment. Score 80% to unlock your certificate.

  • Module 1 — working in partnership with prescribers and colleagues
  • Module 2 — communicating effectively
  • Module 3 — professional knowledge, skills, and judgement
  • Module 4 — raising concerns and leadership
  • Module 5 — applying every standard together, with a complete worked case

Around 2.5 hours in total, worth 2.5 CPD hours.
