Welcome to Financial Integrity & Probity (Financial)

Welcome to this course

A genuinely important, often misunderstood legal point: a small, quickly-corrected fraudulent claim can still result in erasure if a tribunal isn’t satisfied the underlying character-level concern has been genuinely and durably addressed. The sum involved is almost never the deciding factor, whether it reveals a genuine, durable gap in honesty is.

This course covers the financial dimension of probity in full: billing and claims integrity, research and pharmaceutical payment transparency, and personal financial conduct, grounded in real, documented regulatory cases and current data, not a generic ethics-and-money overview.

By the end of this course you will be able to

  1. Explain why financial dishonesty is judged on character rather than the amount involved
  2. Recognise the real claim and billing patterns regulators treat as deliberate, not accidental
  3. Check and understand your own Disclosure UK entry
  4. Distinguish legitimate industry collaboration from an undisclosed financial relationship
  5. Apply a genuine, practical self-check framework to a financial conflict of interest

Who this is for

Any regulated health or social care professional. This is a genuinely common course, the underlying standard, financial honesty as a foundational, non-negotiable expectation, is consistent across GMC, NMC, GDC, HCPC, GPhC, and Social Work England.

This course explains the general standard around financial integrity and probity. It is not legal or financial advice. If you’re facing a live concern involving an allegation of financial dishonesty, this is genuinely serious territory, contact your defence organisation, union, or indemnity provider immediately, before responding to anything.
